Corporate Overview

Able Service is a Hispanic minority-owned small business providing environmental maintenance and other related services throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Established and incorporated in the District of Columbia in 1978, our company maintains appropriate business licenses in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.

As a Hispanic minority & woman-owned small business, Able Service participated in the Small Business Administration (SBA) 8(a) Business Development program. The company successfully graduated from the program in 1992.

Our business philosophy is based on quality of service. It starts with the individual environmental maintenance worker and is reflected throughout the entire organization.  Able Service provides only the best, highly trained personnel using the highest quality supplies and state-of-the-art equipment.

Services

Able Service addresses the needs of today’s commercial, governmental, and industrial businesses by applying reliability and consistent quality control to satisfy a wide range of environmental services. Our professional and technical staff is experienced and trained in assessing and defining the particular needs a client may have. For more than 35 years, Able Service has been recognized as a reliable provider of top-quality diversified environmental maintenance service. As evidence, starting in 1981, we were entrusted with the responsibility of providing custodial service for the President of the United States, high-ranking government officials, and foreign dignitaries during their stay at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. Our capabilities include, but are not limited to the following services:

  •   Special surface and carpet cleaning
  •   Day Porter service
  •   Window washing
  •   Snow removal
  •   Trash removal and recycling
  •   Temporary and On-call unskilled labor service

Staffing

Able Service employs a highly qualified and experienced staff of environmental maintenance employees, supervisors, and managers. We maintain a high-quality service staff of over 300 employees in the Washington, DC metro area who are regularly trained in-house and have a broad range of skills and experience. This is of particular value to all of our present clients since historically, maintaining this large, versatile and skillful labor pool has assured quick response to any unexpected clients’ needs and emergency situations. Additionally, our company’s excellent work relation with its employees has been a key factor in maintaining a very low turnover and a high level of productivity. Our supervisors are recruited from within our company, according to our unique Upward Mobility Policy.

The goal of providing environmental maintenance service(s) that exceed contract specifications is not a difficult task for this company. By providing environmental maintenance service to hospitals and other health care facilities, we regularly consult and successfully work closely with various infection control committees and infectious disease departments at our medical contract facilities. By assuring that sanitary aseptic conditions are maintained at a 0% deficiency rating with no evidence of nosocomial infections, as determined by JCAHO and our clients, we transfer state-of-the-art scientific information to all of our employees by frequent in-service training.

Able Service Contractors has a higher retention rate and a lower turnover rate than the industry average. Our excellent working relationships with our employees have been a key factor in maintaining retention rates and increasing loyalty, thus creating an increased level of productivity.
